The Chairman of the Board and his partners founded EnD-I AG on 5 June 2000. EnD-I stands for Energie - Dienstleistung – Innovation (Energy – Services – Innovation). Its headquarters are in Halle (Saale), and a further branch was established in Cologne in 2000. Although its original focus was on energy consultancy services, EnD-I AG opened its first landfill gas plant in 2002. The path towards becoming a green energy producer continued with the commissioning of its first mine gas plants. Since 2007, EnD-I AG has been planning and operating 500 kW to 5 MW biogas plants in the industrial sector. The company has meanwhile acquired a stake in a total of four biogas plants at various German locations, and a further three are at either the planning or the construction stage.

In 2010, EnD-I AG employed a workforce of 24 and had a turnover of Euro 13 million. We generated 94,099 MWh of climate-neutral electricity, and achieved heat sales totalling 59,685 MWh. This green energy has enabled us to save 92,467.25 tonnes of CO2.

Responsibility for sport and culture

Since 2006, the EnD-I AG has sponsored the Friends the Halle Athletics Association to support the development in the field of competitive sports. The effort is worth it: The athletes regularly achieve top positions in Germany and in the world.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, our second office in Cologne supports the Cologne Philharmonie, one of the most prestigious music halls in Europe.

Always one step ahead

Since the energy sector never stands still, we endeavour to keep one step ahead at all times. With our direct marketing concept, we are branching out into the next phase on the horizon: local energy supply.

And we will continue to look beyond Germany for business opportunities. Our projects in Namibia and Croatia have already reached a successful conclusion. Meanwhile, we have gained a secure foothold in Ghana, as well as in Romania and Bulgaria.
